CERTIFICATE COURSE IN FUNCTIONAL ENGLISH

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE

1. To introduce remedial measures to rule out grammatical errors in the communication skills through theoretical and conceptual understanding of the elements of grammar.
2. To enable the learners to achieve accuracy in oral speech by encouraging the use of a pronunciation dictionary.
3. To enhance those aspects of writing that go beyond the verge of technical or professional forms of writing and encourage to explore the artistic and imaginative elements of writing.
4. To enhance learners English language proficiency in social and work situations, particularly in spoken interactions.
5. To make learners aware of the special features, format and style of informal communication through various modes.

ELIGIBILITY
10+2 Minimum % of marks for all candidates is 50% (5% relaxation for SC/ST) in Graduation or in Teacher Education degree or diploma.

COURSE FEE Rs. 5000/-

The intake of students will be limited to a maximum of 2 units of 40 each.

DURATION OF THE COURSE
The course is distributed over six months. Since it is a regular contact programme on Saturdays & Sundays, attendance is compulsory.
